A Message From The Head Teacher

Headteacher's Welcome

Dear Parents,

At Bishop’s Tachbrook we promote a life-long love of learning based on Christian values by providing memorable and exciting opportunities in a happy, healthy, safe environment. Each half term we focus on one of these Christian values:

As a result of our teaching, excellent pastoral care and opportunities beyond the classroom such as after school clubs, competitive sports and our weekly Forest School, our children develop self belief, achieve their potential and are equipped for life by their experiences here. We are proud of our academic and sporting results and of the progress made by each individual child. We carefully and regularly track each child to make sure they are appropriately supported, nurtured and extended in their learning.

We welcome children from all backgrounds, faiths and cultures and teach children to respect and learn about the diversity of beliefs and customs both in our local community and in the world beyond, while teaching children about the Christian faith through our strong links with St. Chad's Church.

Pupils are also specifically taught the British Values of democracy, respect, individual liberty and the rule of law through our daily assemblies as well as our curriculum.

Investment over recent years means that your child will enjoy learning in comfortable, well-equipped surroundings. As well as having two ICT suites, all classrooms have interactive white boards and more recently  access to iPads (kindly paid for by our fabulous PTA ), so that teaching and learning can be most effective through the use of new technologies. The school’s playground, field and garden provide plenty of opportunity for sport, gardening, relaxation and play. We have  undertaken an exciting programme of re-development to further enhance the provision for play and learning indoors and out by improving the school grounds and extensively re-furbishing and extending the building.

The school is home to a Nursery, which provides sessional care for pre-school age children. We also are home to an Out of School Club (OOSC) to help parents whose lifestyles demand quality child care beyond the school day. This club is also open through certain holiday periods.
The best way to choose a school is certainly to see it in action and we are always pleased to show prospective families around on our Autumn Open Days or by appointment at other times.

We look forward to welcoming your family.
Yours sincerely,
Andy Brettell, Head Teacher
