Healthy School, Healthy Children.
We are officially a Healthy School. Our tasty school meals are cooked on site and many other activities in our new curriculum and beyond the school day encourage children to eat a healthy diet and of course exercise well too. We have developed links with Morrisons who help our children learn about bread making and also with the local Mallory Court Hotel whose chefs visit and help teach pupils in food technology. We grow a variety of foods in our school garden, and run an annual Food Festival to teach enterprise and ensure pupils understand the process from farm to fork.
Did you know?
If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 they are entitled to a FREE school lunch, under the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals Programme.
It's also worth applying for Free School Meals
It is very important that if you are on a low income or in receipt of certain benefits you also apply for 'Free School Meals'. There are many other benefits for your child which follow your child year on year, as well as financial help for you with the cost of certain after school clubs and even music lessons. Please ask in confidence at the School Office.
Information about eligibility for Free School Meals is completely confidential.
Any parent who is not already in receipt of Free School Meals but who successfully applies is also eligible for a one-off £50 cash refund on school uniform. Full details from the Office.
